Moral & National Education subject guidelines will be shelved: CY Leung

He hopes the move will help resolve disputes on the subject.

In a release, Chief Executive CY Leung has announced the Government will shelve the Moral & National Education subject guidelines, saying he hopes the move will help resolve disputes on the subject.

Mr Leung made the announcement in 8 October, with Chief Secretary Carrie Lam, Secretary for Education Eddie Ng, and Chairperson of the Committee on the Implementation of Moral & National Education Anna Wu.

Since the policy now allows schools to decide whether to implement the subject, and when and how to implement it, Mr Leung said it is not necessary to withdraw it.
