Here's a glimpse of Hong Kong's 2nd largest library

It has a stunning indoor heated swimming pool.

According to a report, the Ping Shan Tin Shui Wai Leisure & Cultural Building, which houses an eight-storey library and a five-storey sports centre with an indoor heated swimming pool, will officially open on July 12.

The opening is one of the highlight events of the "Hong Kong: Our Home" campaign.

The library will be Hong Kong's second largest, and the only one with an outdoor courtyard where people can relax and read in the open air.

Two giant paintings specially created for the campaign launch on April 23 will be on display in the building until August 11.

On July 14 more than 100 young contestants will show their dancing skills in the "BATTLE 2013" street dance competition at Tin Fai Road Community Hall. The same day, talented singers aged 15 to 25 will compete in the 27th Kwai Tsing District New Talent Singing Contest at Kwai Fong Community Hall. Sixteen will enter the final round on August 11.

In Sai Kung, sea cave expert Alan Lau will give a talk on Hong Kong's rocks and sea arches at the University of Science & Technology on July 14. Call 8200 0248 to reserve seats. Other highlight activities this week include the 9th Hong Kong Butterfly Race at the Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve in Tai Po on July 14; the Central & Western District Youth Day at Smithfield Sports Centre, Kennedy Town, on July 14; and, the "Comic Zone" exhibition at Po Leung Kuk Energetic Youth Club in Yuen Long.
