Hong Kong inks toursim deal with South Australia

Ocean Park to receive 8 koalas from the Aussies.

According to a report, Hong Kong and South Australia have signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism co-operation, under which eight koalas from the Australian state’s Cleland Wildlife Park will be given to Ocean Park.

Permanent Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development (Commerce, Industry & Tourism) Andrew Wong signed the agreement today with South Australia's visiting Minister for Tourism, Recreation & Sport Leon Bignell.

Financial Secretary John Tsang and South Australia's visiting Premier Jay Weatherill witnessed the signing ceremony.

"This generous gift signifies the friendship between Hong Kong and South Australia, and certainly helps forge closer links between us," Mr Wong said, noting the agreement will promote bilateral ties and encourage stronger tourism co-operation.
