Swire Pacific acquires fresh stake in Mainland China hospital

The investment is a part of Swire Pacific's strategy to diversify its portfolio in the mainland.

Swire Pacific invests in Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital for an undisclosed amount.

The hospital is located in the Futian district, Shenzhen, Mainland China. It will have a total gross floor area of 64,000 square metres with 350 inpatient beds.

The investment is a part of Swire Pacific's strategy to diversify its portfolio in the mainland, and followed a previous investment in Shanghai-based Columbia China Healthcare Co.

"Our investments in the healthcare sector bear many of the hallmarks of the Group's long-standing investment strategy, and are a good fit with our capabilities. Healthcare is a sector where quality, commitment to service and reputation are all very important. All of these play to our core strengths," Swire Properties Chief Executive Guy Bradley said in a statement.

The company is set to continue its investment in similar areas in China.
