Customs seized $1.6m worth of cocaine

24-year old woman arrested.

According to a report, customs officers arrested a 24-year-old woman from São Paulo, Brazil at the airport yesterday and seized 1.7 kg of cocaine worth $1.6 million.

Officers found the drugs concealed inside the hollow part of a metal gear and nine metal rods.

The woman, who claimed to be a salesperson, will be charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Court on 19 September.
