Customs seized $1.55m worth of cannabis resin

Three suspects were arrested.

Customs officers arrested three people after seizing 7.5kg of cannabis resin worth $1.55 million yesterday.

They inspected an air cargo shipment declared as box samples from India on June 14. The resin was found concealed in the wooden rods of 58 embroidery paintings.

They raided a flat in Yau Ma Tei and seized another 11kg of cannabis resin, also found concealed in the wooden rods of 80 embroidery paintings, and arrested two men and a woman aged 31 to 38 for drug trafficking.
