Hong Kong ranks 2nd in the world in play-to-earn gaming adoption

At least two in five Hong Kongers have used play-to-earn platforms.

Hong Kong ranks second amongst 26 countries and markets, just below India, to have adopted to the play-to-earn craze with 29% of internet users using NFT gaming platforms, a report by Finders.com found.

In the Finder’s NFT Gaming Adoption Report, play-to-earn (P2E) adoption in the country us already twice that of the global average of 14% and is still set to grow.

The report found that 8% of Hong Kongers plan to use a P2E NFT game by the end of the year, that could boost adoption of P2E users in the country to 36%.


P2E games often employ the use of cryptocurrency, in which players are able to earn through continued playing of the game.

The top five markets for NFT adoption are India (33.79%), Hong Kong (28.75%), The UAE (27.27%), The Philippines (25.01%), and Vietnam (22.96%).
