Gov’t hikes fees for land registration
The fee adjustments will range from 15% to 30%.
The government will increase fees for five types of land registration services in three phases from FY2025/26 to FY2027/28.
The increase in fees will range from approximately 15% to 35% in each phase.
The fee adjustments will apply to the registration of various instruments, such as assignments, such as assignments, mortgages, agreements for sale and purchase, and leases, as well as their renewal, surrender, and other agreements.
It will also cover the registration of other instruments, including those involving the assignment or transfer of charges or mortgages on any share or interest in a property.
The fees were reviewed and adjusted in accordance with an established mechanism and the “user pays” principle, set at levels considered generally adequate for recovering the full costs of providing the services.
The revised fees will come into effect in three phases from 16 July, 1 July 2026, and 1 July 2027.
