Application for tech research support scheme begins

Each successful application may receive between $100m and $300m.

The Innovation and Technology Commission has launched the $3b Frontier Technology Research Support Scheme (FTRSS) to attract international talent. 
     
Under the FTRSS, the government will provide funding on a matching basis to eight universities funded by the University Grants Committee.

Each successful application may receive between $100m and $300m. Assessment criteria include academic achievements and their commitment to research participation.

Eligible universities can apply by 25 November 25, with the Commission expected to announce the results in the first half of 2026.
