Warning out against unauthorised insurer

Beware of Yuen Yeung International Insurance.

According to a report, the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance today warned the public about a company using the names Yuen Yeung International Insurance Co. Limited, and Yuanyang International Insurance.

They are not authorised by the Insurance Authority, under the Insurance Companies Ordinance, to conduct insurance business in or from Hong Kong.

The company has a registered office at Unit E, 9/F Full Win Commercial Centre, 573 Nathan Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, Hong Kong, and operates a website with the domain name www.yygjbx.com.

It claims it offers life, property and casualty insurance.

It is believed the company has issued fraudulent insurance policies outside Hong Kong.

The Office of the Commissioner of Insurance has reported the case to Police.

Anyone who has provided personal information to, or conducted insurance transactions with, the companies should contact Police on 3661 1650.

Any company conducting insurance business in or from Hong Kong must be authorised by the Insurance Authority under the Insurance Companies Ordinance.
