UnionPay, Bank of Communications remove cross-network ATM withdrawal fees

The exemption also covers customers in Macau.

UnionPay and Bank of Communications (Hong Kong) will exempt all cross-network ATM cash withdrawal fees per transaction effective 3 June, according to a news release.

Cardholders will not be charged any transaction fees when using the BoCom Hong Kong UnionPay ATM card for withdrawals from all ATMs with UnionPay logo in the city, as well as ATMs of the HSBC and Guangfa Bank in Macau.

UnionPay plans to collaborate with more local banks to exempt transaction fees for cross-network ATM withdrawals.
