Hong Kong Business welcomes nominations for the Technology Excellence Awards 2022

Submissions are open until 17 June 2022.

Now in its 4th year, the HKB Technology Excellence Awards is once again in search of outstanding companies that made exceptional contributions in pursuit of technological innovation. The programme will crown the best first-rate firms with the most innovative and unique IT initiatives and solutions that helped enhance their company's business in Hong Kong.

Eligible companies must have pioneered ground-breaking IT products and solutions across different industries with the most innovative technology initiatives that push the boundaries of technology in Hong Kong. 

Entries can be any technology project, product, service or initiative that made an impact on their business and industry and must have been launched in the last two years. Entries launched before this period are qualified as long as recent improvements or innovations have been made.

The most prestigious celebration of Hong Kong's technology champions is presented by Hong Kong Business. Previous winners include powerhouses like Jardine Schindler Group (AI - Industrial Engineering, Robotics - Industrial Engineering, UV Technology - Industrial Engineering), LexisNexis Hong Kong (Analytics-Legal), Sunrise Diagnostic Centre Limited (Biotechnology-Healthcare Technology), Hong Kong Productivity Council (AI-Manufacturing and Infrastructure Technology), HSBC (AI - Banking, Digital - Banking), Fidelity International (Mobile-Fidelity International), Atome (Fintech-Payments), Blue Insurance Hong Kong (Fintech - Life Insurance), Chinachem Group (Property Technology - Smart City), Datasite (Fintech - Financial Services), DYXnet by NEOLINK (ICT - Technology), Eureka Nova (Emerging Technology - Commercial Building Construction, Property Technology - Real Estate and Robotics - Real Estate), amongst others.

The entries will be reviewed based on inspiration behind the initiative, uniqueness & innovation, effectiveness, impact on the company and industry, as well as dynamism to changes and progressive opportunities by a prestigious panel of judges.

Gov’t deficit hits $183b 
The government took into account the proceeds of $20b received from the issuance of green bonds.   The government recorded a deficit of $183b in the first five months of the current financial year, taking into account the proceeds of $20b received from the issuance of green bonds.   There was a deficit because some major types of revenue like salaries and profits taxes are received towards the end of a financial year.    In the first five months, government expenditure was $319.2b, whilst revenue was $116.2b.
