Fuel surcharges to rise in September

In a report, the Civil Aviation Department said today that air passenger fuel surcharges for September will rise.

The new maximum levels of fuel surcharges will be $217 for short-haul flights and $897 for long-haul flights, representing increases of 9% and 4% from the current levels.

The applicable surcharge levels are based on the ticket issue date.

The current maximum surcharge levels for short-haul and long-haul flights are $200 and $859.
