Real estate and insurance industries saw double-digit growth in business receipts in Q2

Business receipts in nine out of 15 service industries went up in value.

Business receipts of real estate and insurance industries rose the most in value by 23.6% and 19.8% YoY respectively in Q2 2019, according to a report by the Census and Statistics Department.

Growth in business receipts was observed in nine out of 15 major service industries.

On the other hand, the import/export trade industry posted the biggest decline at 6%, followed by the wholesale industry at 5.2%.

By service domain, business receipts under the computer and information technology services slid 7% YoY whilst those from tourism, convention and exhibition services grew 1.1%.

However, nine of the 15 industries recorded a seasonally-adjusted QoQ dip. In particular, the accommodation services and food service industry saw a drop by 5.3% and 4.6% respectively.

Meanwhile, receipts from the real estate industry rose 4.6%.

By domain, both tourism, convention and exhibition services, and computer and information technology services went down 3.3% and 4.6% respectively.
