Jobless rate dips to 3.8% in Q4 2025

Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate edged down to 3.8% in Q4 2025 from 3.9% in Q3, according to the Census and Statistics Department’s General Household Survey.
The survey showed 138,200 unemployed people and 64,800 underemployed, with the underemployment rate rising to 1.7% from 1.6%.
Total employment was 3,667,000 in the quarter, whilst the labour force participation rate was 56.7%, with the labour force at 3,805,200.
Median monthly employment earnings were $20,500, and median monthly household income was $30,000.
The city had 2,774,900 domestic households in Q4 2025.
