Hong Kong reappoints Julia Leung as SFC chief for two years

Her new term begins 1 January 2026.

The Hong Kong government confirmed Julia Leung will continue as Chief Executive Officer of the Securities and Futures Commission through 31 December 2027.

Ms Leung has overseen the SFC’s work in regulatory oversight and market-development initiatives, including connectivity with Mainland China markets and cooperation with overseas regulators.

Ms Leung joined the SFC in 2015, became Deputy CEO in 2018, and has served as CEO since January 2023. She previously held senior roles at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau.
