Hong Kong raises postage fees
The adjustments were said to be in line with cumulative inflation.
The Hongkong Post has announced that it will raise principal postage rates beginning 26 September.
Postage increases for about 80% of local mail will be within 30 cents. Local letters weighing 30 grams or less will have their postage fee increase from $2 to $2.20.
For air mail, the cost to mail letters of 20g or less to the Mainland and Taiwan will rise from $3.40 to $3.70, whilst those to other places will increase from $3.70-$5 to $4-$5.50.
For surface mail to the Mainland, Macau and Taiwan, postage for letters of 20g or less will be adjusted from $2.60 to $2.80, whilst those to other places will rise from $3.20-$4.80 to $3.50-$5.30.
The Hongkong Post said the postage adjustments are broadly in line with the cumulative inflation since the last adjustments in January 2018 up to September 2022.
