HKTE promotes initiatives abroad to attract talent

It will continue to promote opportunities abroad and target key markets.

The Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) has visited the UK, Malaysia, and Singapore to promote Hong Kong’s talent-attraction initiatives to students, professors, and alumni from local universities.

Led by HKTE Director Anthony Lau, the delegation had discussions with representatives from five UK universities, including the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. Two UK talents who have already settled in Hong Kong also shared their experiences of working and living in Hong Kong at the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

In Malaysia, HKTE hosted seminars featuring local businesses and Malaysian talents who have moved to Hong Kong, highlighting employment prospects, tax benefits, and settlement processes. The events attracted over 100 attendees, including students and human resources professionals. 

Lau also met with the University of Malaya Centre of Innovation and Enterprise and local business chambers to discuss Hong Kong’s latest developments.

In Singapore, the delegation attended the National University of Singapore’s career fair, engaging with over 1,500 students and alumni. They also connected with fresh graduates from the Asia campus of the Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires.

Lau said the HKTE will continue promoting Hong Kong's opportunities abroad, providing support for incoming talent, and targeting key markets such as North America and Europe.
