HKSAR and Beijing sign cooperation agreement on industrialisation efforts

The agreement will also promote cooperation in industry and information technology.

A new cooperation agreement between the HKSAR and Beijing’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has been signed to support Hong Kong in developing new quality productive forces and promoting new industrialisation according to local conditions.

The agreement also strengthened exchanges between the two sides in industry and information technology, promoting cooperation and joint development in sectors where both have clear advantages.

Prior to this agreement, both sides updated their respective policy initiatives and exchanged views on promoting the development of innovation and technology complementing overall national development.

“The Hong Kong SAR Government will collaborate with the MIIT to further advance innovation, technology, and industry, injecting new impetus into economic development and making greater contribution to the comprehensive promotion of Chinese modernisation to build a great country and achieve national rejuvenation,” Chief Executive John Lee said.
