HK welcomes USD sovereign bonds

The government will announce the issuance arrangement separately later.

The Hong Kong Ministry of Finance (MoF) will issue US dollar sovereign bonds worth $4b (HK$31.15b) in Hong Kong on 19 October. The MoF will issue these in 3-year, 5-year, 10-year, and 30-year tenors.

According to a government spokesman, the Hong Kong government welcomes the issuances as they demonstrate the country's status as an international financial centre, which is conducive to promoting the sustainable development of the bond market in Hong Kong.
