Hong Kong beats Singapore in attracting expats

Hong Kong's greatest strength lies in its finance skills.

Hong Kong snagged the top spot as the most attractive Asian country for foreign talent as it places 12th on the fourth annual World Talent Ranking by the World Competitiveness Center at IMD.

The study revealed that across ranking categories, Hong Kong ranked 24th in terms of investment and development, 11th in terms of appeal, and sixth in terms of readiness.

Hong Kong's greatest strength lies in its finance skills, international experience and competent senior management as it snagged the top spot across all categories in rankings.

It also performed strongly in education assessment by Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) as it secured the third spot.

However, it performed poorly in cost of living index and total public expenditure in education.

Hong Kong was ranked 61st in cost of living and 55th in total public expenditure in education.
