Property sales slump 6.9% in July

Building unit sale and purchase agreements dropped to $51.7b.

Hong Kong logged 6,715 sale and purchase agreements for all building units in July, down 6.9% year on year and 28.8% from June.

The total consideration for building unit sale and purchase agreements dropped 37.5% month on month to $51.7b. On a yearly basis, it declined by 5.3%.

Residential transactions accounted for 4,462 agreements in July, down 22.6% from a year earlier and 41.7% from the previous month.

The total consideration for residential units was $41.9b, declining 9.6% YoY and 44.6% from June.

The Land Registry recorded 1,466,737 land register searches during the month.
