Urban Renewal Authority awards Central Oasis project to AGC Design

Attainment of the highest score in an assessment has given AGC Design the project.

AGC Design Limited has been awarded the comprehensive design consultancy contract for the Central Oasis revitalisation project through a public tender exercise, the Urban Renewal Authority announced Thursday.

The authority's Managing Director Quinn Law said the company obtained the highest score in an assessment that included ways to tally with mainstream opinions and stakeholders' aspirations, how to handle the structural and preservation issues, strategy for phased implementation, design team composition and experience, and the consultant's resources for the project, according to a URA report.

The company will start working on the proposal based on the design concept and submit a planning application with the Town Planning Board for consideration next year.
