Education Centre tender to roll out in November

Contract likely to be approved next year.

According to a report, Secretary for Education Eddie Ng says the tender document for the National Education Centre in Tai Po will be issued in November.

Speaking to reporters today, Mr Ng said the centre is operated by the Federation of Education Workers and the tenancy is due this month.

He said the bureau will prepare the draft of the bidding document for the centre, and the contract can be approved next year if the procedure runs smoothly.

He said moral and national education learning is necessary and the Government has decided to allow schools to decide whether to implement the subject, and when and how to implement it.

Meanwhile, he said the Queen's Hill site is very precious, so the Government must be very careful to consider its land use.
