17 building plans approved in March

Apartment developments dominated future construction activities.

The Buildings Department has approved 17 building plans in March, with apartment and apartment commercial developments accounting for nearly half of future construction activities.

Seven buildings are to be built on Hong Kong Island whilst six will be in New Territories and four in Kowloon.

The Buildings Department also gave consent to start work on ten building projects that involve 221 units for domestic use and 51,400 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

The declared cost of new buildings completed in March was $3.8b.
