PuraPharm Corporation Limited and HerbMiners Informatics Limited deploys Alibaba Cloud’s AI capabilities to empower Traditional Chinese Medicine

Its AI-powered platform TCM Advisor transforms Traditional Chinese Medicine with advanced clinical decision support and workflow automation.

PuraPharm Corporation Limited and HerbMiners Informatics Limited, in partnership with Alibaba Cloud, received the AI - Healthcare accolade at the prestigious Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards 2025 for its vital role in powering a groundbreaking clinical decision support platform, Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM Advisor (TCMA).

TCM Advisor (TCMA), which was developed by HerbMiners Informatics, is enabled by Alibaba Cloud’s large language family (LLM) model, Qwen. It leverages the model’s advanced natural language processing and deep learning capabilities to analyse unstructured medical information such as doctors' notes and herbal prescriptions.

Beyond diagnosis and treatment planning, the platform supports the entire clinical workflow. This includes modules for patient management, appointment scheduling, billing, inventory tracking, and even telemedicine consultations, all integrated into a seamless interface.

Through Qwen, it enables automated patient messaging, artificial intelligence-assisted clinical documentation, and real-time generation of data-driven insights. This helps not only in reducing administrative workload, but also in delivering a more efficient and personalised patient experience.

Since being deployed across hospitals and clinics in various countries, the platform has proven its effectiveness, with clinics reporting improved treatment accuracy, higher patient satisfaction, and smoother day-to-day operations. It also continues to update its protocols as new data and regulatory standards emerge.
