Hang Seng Bank recognised at HKB Greater Bay Area Enterprise Awards 2025

The Hong Kong-based banking and financial services company received acclaim for its cross-boundary services.

Hang Seng Bank took top honours in the Business Banking category at the HKB Greater Bay Area Enterprise Awards 2025, for its exemplary suite of solutions tailored for commercial customers in the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Amongst the key offerings that helped the bank win the award is its remittance service for Hong Kong corporates, which promises seamless fund transfers for the qualified payment instruction between Hang Seng Bank in Hong Kong and its wholly owned subsidiary, Hang Seng Bank (China), in as little as five minutes. It addresses the need for fast and efficient cross-boundary transactions by streamlining the document verification process and reducing the overall payment processing time by 97%.

The bank also boasts a comprehensive 24/7 FX Service on Digital Channels catering to all commercial customers conducting foreign exchange (FX) transactions via Digital Channels and Trade FX. Offered 24X7, this service allows customers to trade FX on digital platforms like FX API, other e-channels, and Trade FX, even outside traditional banking hours.

The service covers up to 16 currencies, including AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, EUR, GBP, HKD, JPY, NZD, USD, THB, ZAR, DKK, NOK, SEK, and SGD. This is supplemented by the bank’s use of an FX Prompt tool that uses in-depth data analysis to recommend the most suitable payment currency for customers, helping them manage their FX costs when making online outward remittances.

In addition, Hang Seng offers Magic DICE, a subscription-based offer to support customers’ local and international payments needs, which provides e-commerce merchants and platforms in the GBA with a comprehensive cash management solution. Magic DICE, pilot-launched in mid-2023 and fully rolled out in 2024, features a pricing model that streamlines banking transaction costs for e-commerce customers. Its key features include digital channels, virtual accounts, virtual cards, remittance services, and preferential FX rates.

Magic DICE also supports faster cross-boundary payments between Hong Kong and the mainland, along with instant local payments within Hong Kong. The platform includes an online payment route tracker to monitor payments and provides real-time FX rate quotes. It also supports a wide range of payment types and internal transfers, reducing the need for physical accounts and giving customers greater control and security over their transactions.

The prestigious HKB Greater Bay Area Enterprise Awards recognises Hong Kong and Macau-based companies for their exemplary endeavours that promote collaboration, investment, and development across the GBA.
