Baxter Healthcare Ltd triumphs at Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards 2025

The company’s innovative solutions support safer, smarter and more cost-effective healthcare.

Baxter Healthcare Ltd was lauded at the Hong Kong Business Technology Excellence Awards 2025, bagging the Smart Technology - Healthcare Technology category for its next-generation medical technologies.

Baxter introduced a series of medical technologies that support healthcare professionals in delivering more efficient care, improving patient outcomes, and reducing overall healthcare costs.

With these innovations, Baxter meets the rising demands of modern healthcare environments, from the pharmacy to the operating room and beyond.

As pharmacy departments face increasing complexity and workload, Baxter offered to alleviate this with its Exactamix Pro. This is an automated compounding device engineered to help pharmacy teams work more safely and efficiently.

Featuring quad-core processing power, an intuitive touchscreen interface, and user-friendly operation, the Exactamix Pro simplifies the preparation of complex intravenous (IV) solutions. It is also built with cybersecurity features, and meets the FDA-recognised UL 2900-2-1 standard to protect pharmacy systems from cyber threats. Notably, it is one of the most secure compounding devices available at the moment.

On the other hand, for the operating room, Baxter offers its Floseal NG with RECOTHROM that represents the latest in surgical hemostatic technology. It is designed to stop bleeding quickly and effectively. It also uses recombinant DNA technology to create synthetic thrombin, an advanced alternative to traditional thrombin derived from human or animal blood.

Floseal NG removes the risks associated with biologically-sourced products. It offers a safer and more consistent solution that helps surgeons reduce blood loss, shorten surgical time, and lower the risk of complications.

Furthermore, Baxter also supports recovery outside the hospital with the Baxter Infusor. This tool provides a reliable and portable solution for ambulatory infusion therapy. Using elastomeric technology, it delivers medication without the need for batteries or electronics, and allows patients to continue their treatment at home or on the go.

This approach improves patients’ quality of life and, most importantly, reduces hospital stays and lowers the overall burden on healthcare facilities.

With these new innovations, Baxter continues to lead the way in providing technologies that support healthcare professionals, enhance patient care, and deliver measurable cost savings. Baxter is helping shape a smarter, safer, and more sustainable healthcare future.
