Hong Kong, Guangdong to align construction rules under new pact
Sector experts will join committees to support the partnership.
Hong Kong and Guangdong have signed an agreement to promote construction standardisation across the Greater Bay Area.
Both governments will set up a working group and a technical committee to develop construction standards in designated areas.
The Building Technology Research Institute and the Guangdong Provincial Academy of Building Research Group will serve as the secretariats for Hong Kong and Guangdong, respectively.
Experts from relevant sectors will also be invited to form committees.
The agreement was signed by Secretary for Development Bernadette Linn and Guangdong housing and urban-rural development chief Guo Haoyu.
