Performance rating scheme launched for registered escalator contractors

The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department launched the new Registered Escalator Contractors' Performance Rating.

The EMSD also updated the results of the Registered Lift Contractors' Performance Rating for the past 12 months.

"Since the implementation of the Contractors' Performance Rating scheme for registered lift contractors, we have received valuable views from the trade and the public to enable us to continuously improve the CPR scheme to make it a useful reference for lift owners and their building management agents to choose appropriate contractors," said a spokesperson from EMSD.

"After consultation with the trade in early 2011, we decided to extend the CPR scheme to registered escalator contractors so that escalator owners and their building management agents can also make reference to the CPR to choose appropriate escalator contractors. The CPR will be updated quarterly and the cumulated performance monitoring points will be kept valid for 12 months," he added.
