DHL Express launches direct Hong Kong to Jakarta route

It is powered by the B737-800 freighter with a capacity of 20 tonnes.

DHL Express has introduced a new direct flight route from Hong Kong to Jakarta, Indonesia, operating four times  week to enhance delivery speed and reliability for businesses and individuals in Indonesia.

The service is powered by the B737-800 freighter with a payload capacity of 20 tonnes, capable of transporting a wide variety of shipments, ranging from e-commerce packages to larger consignments.

The flight connects key markets, including Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Vietnam, via DHL’s Central Asia Hub in Hong Kong.

Indonesia, Hong Kong's sixth-largest trading partner among ASEAN countries, recorded bilateral trade of $44.4b (US$5.7b) in 2022. Trade ties between the two economies were further strengthened in 2023, with 15 memoranda of understanding signed, covering finance, trade, and logistics.

In July 2024, Indonesia's import value surged by 11.07% compared to the same month in 2023, driven primarily by non-oil and gas commodities as well as machinery and mechanical appliances originating from Asia Pacific countries.
