CIMDA, FDB Group boost low altitude economy in new initiative
They established a premier electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing Association.
The Centre for Intelligent Multidimensional Data Analysis (CIMDA) at the City University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and FDB Group have partnered to establish the Hong Kong electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) Industry Association.
This non-profit organisation aims to promote research and development in eVTOL technology whilst facilitating business growth in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area of Mainland China.
The association is supported by a network of local, Mainland, and international industry experts. It will focus on advancing eVTOL aircraft technology, original equipment manufacturers, and aircraft operators.
It will actively engage with the government to develop policies for the eVTOL industry, whilst exploring related market demands.
"The Association aims to establish a global hub representing various eVTOL-related companies, industry partners, academics, experts, and local stakeholders worldwide. This hub will showcase cutting-edge technologies and expertise while fostering research and development aligned with Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area standards," Mr. K. S. Ng, Chairman of FDB Group, said.
"By facilitating the transfer of innovations from R&D to real-world applications, we will create a comprehensive value chain focused on commercialization, enabling stakeholders to tap into lucrative local and regional markets and foster a more dynamic and supportive business ecosystem."
