
Cathay Pacific sees 14.3% YoY rise in February passenger volume
Cathay Pacific and HK Express set a new post-pandemic record on 2 February.
Cathay Pacific carried 14.3% more passengers in February compared to the same period last year, whilst Available Seat Kilometres (ASKs) rose by 17%.
In the first two months of 2025, the flag carrier's total passenger count increased by 25.4% year-on-year (YoY).
Meanwhile, its budget airline arm, HK Express, carried over 585,000 passengers in February, marking a 32% YoY increase.
ASKs also grew by 38%. Over the first two months of 2025, HK Express saw a 39.1% YoY rise in passenger numbers.
Notably, Cathay Pacific and HK Express set a post-pandemic record on 2 February, carrying more than 111,000 passengers on a single day.
Cathay Cargo also recorded strong growth, handling 11.8% more cargo in February than in the same month last year.
Available Freight Tonne Kilometres increased by 3.5%, whilst the load factor declined by 1.4 percentage points YoY. In the first two months of 2025, total cargo tonnage rose 12.8% YoY.
