Cathay Group nears completion of two-year rebuilding project
Cathay Pacific and HK Express will reach 100% of pre-pandemic flights by 2025.
The Cathay Group is nearing the completion of its two-year rebuilding project, during which the company has focused on adding more flights and destinations.
As such, Cathay Pacific and HK Express will reach 100% of pre-pandemic flights starting next year. The two airlines projected that they will operate to 100 destinations.
Moreover, the airline has recruited and trained 7,000 new employees, with the overall headcount reaching over 30,000. These include new cabin crew, pilots, airport teams, engineering teams, digital and IT teams, back office teams, and subsidiaries.
Furthermore, the group has exceeded its recruitment target and now has over 3,400 pilots across the two airlines. The pilot resignation rate has been low and is currently under 3% year to date.
In addition to recruitment, over 600 pilots have completed their Command or First Officer Upgrade training over the past 18 months.
