Hong Kong Airlines updates frequent flyer programme
Members will earn points based on the cost of their ticket rather than the distance flown.
Hong Kong Airlines has announced a major update to its frequent flyer programme, Fortune Wings Club, shifting to a spending-based points accrual model effective 1 July 2025.
Under the new system, members will earn points based on the cost of their ticket rather than the distance flown.
The change is intended to provide a more straightforward and flexible experience for members. Elite members will continue to benefit from additional bonus points, and the airline has also adjusted its redemption structure to make award tickets more accessible.
In addition, the airline has introduced a co-branded Mastercard® in partnership with China CITIC Bank International. The card offers customers welcome bonus points, accelerated point accumulation on spending, travel insurance, and access to special “Flash Sale” redemption events offering 50% off award tickets and upgrades.
