Hong Kong's mobile user base inches upwards by 0.24%

Reaches 16.43 million users in April versus March.

The Office of the Communications Authority reported 6.39 million users in March. Of the total number of users, 7.71 million were postpaid users and 8.72 million prepaid users.

Mobile data usage rose to 859.8 MB per customer in April from 839.9 MB per customer in the previous month.

The number of 3G/4G users grew to 10.34 million for April from 10.27 million in March.

On the other hand, the total number of SMS sent fell to 284.7 million or 20 per subscriber in April from 317.4 million, or 22 per subscriber.
