Mox Bank swings to profit in H1
Operating income and net interest income hit double-digit increases.
Mox Bank Limited recorded a profit before tax of $1.1m (HK$8.63m) in the first six months of 2026.
Operating income rose 69% year-on-year (YoY) to $65.38m (HK$513m), the Hong Kong-based digital bank said in a statement on 30 September.
Net interest income jumped 52% YoY to $57.61m (HK$452m).
Total deposits came at $2.66b (HK$20.9b), with its customer base hitting close to 800,000, equal to 15% of the city’s bankable population, said Barbaros Uygun, CEO of Mox.
Its financial services logged growth during the year. Spending using Mox Card rose 33% YoY. Mox Card has the seventh largest credit card portfolio amongst all retail banks in Hong Kong, the bank said.
Its insurance service, Mox Insure, has covered 20,000 customers since launch.
Mox Invest saw its assets under management double in the H1 period, with trading value rising 34% and investment revenue surging 75%, the bank said.
Mox Bank is celebrating its sixth anniversary in 2026.
