HK property sales down 18.7% in September

It is also a 1.3% decline compared to the same month last year.

The Land Registry recorded 3,843 sale and purchase agreements for building units in September, an 18.7% decrease from August and a 1.3% drop year-on-year.

Total consideration for these agreements fell 19.4% from August to $27.7b, representing a 7.1% decline compared to last year.

Amongst these, 2,848 agreements were for residential units, down 22.1% from August and 0.5% year-on-year. The total consideration for residential units was $20.8b, down 26.8% from August and 8.5% compared to last year.

The Land Registry also recorded 355,009 searches in the land register last month.
