URA unveils redevelopment site Yue Man Square: YM²

It features Hong Kong’s first fully indoor air-conditioned Smart Public Transport Interchange.

The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) has unveiled new retail and dining destination Yue Man Square: YM², located in the heart of Kwun Tong Town Centre Project Development Areas 2 and 3.

It is the first phase of a comprehensive redevelopment effort with a total non-domestic gross floor area of over 350,000 sq and features Hong Kong’s first fully indoor air-conditioned Smart Public Transport Interchange designed to improve access to East Kowloon and relieve traffic congestion in the area.

URA has also created a comfortable, business-oriented market space for vendors formerly occupying Yue Man Square and the Interim Bazaar area, enabling stall-holders to continue serving local residents.

Yue Man Square: YM² features outdoor green spaces, seamless 5G and Wi-Fi 6 networks and Smart Facilities Management, such as building operating system for chiller analytics, smart toilets and baby care room availability system, UV sanitizing and cleaning robots etc., YM² offers a genuine experience of the cultural history of Kwun Tong within a modern living, leisure, and retail landmark.

YM² is also a salubrious hub with greenery and leisure areas, covering the roof top garden on 3/F with multifarious plantations and serves as one of the greenest areas in the city. It has diversified tenants to fulfill the daily needs of residents. Visitors will also discover two indigenous air-conditioned market areas: Yue Man Lane and Yue Man Hawker Bazaar.

Some of the shops in Yue Man Lane are reserved for former stall-holders at Yue Man Square, so traders can continue to offer one of the city’s best selections of clothing, homewares and classic delicacies; it also provides access to these conveniences for passengers using the Smart Public Transport Interchange and residents.

Meanwhile, Yue Man Hawker Bazaar, a dedicated marketplace managed by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, provides a comfortable environment which also incorporates this historically important element of Kwun Tong community culture.
