Property sales rise 8.5% MoM in April

There were 7,229 deals during the month.

The Land Registry logged 7,229 sale and purchase agreements for all registered building units in April, up 8.5% month-on-month (MoM) and down 26.8% year-on-year (YoY).

Of the agreements, 5,694 were for residential units, rising 6.1% MoM but decreasing 33.4% YoY.

Total consideration for all the agreements rose 9.8% MoM to $50.1b but dropped 40.3% YoY. For residential units, the total consideration rose 8.7% MoM to $42.2b, but 45.5% lower YoY.

There were 368,426 land register searches last month.
