Property sales crash 29% since 2010
Total consideration was just $653.96b.
According to the Land Registry, the number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units for 2012 was 115,533, up 6.2% over a year earlier, but down 29% on 2010.
The total consideration for these agreements was $653.96 billion, up 11.2% year-on-year but down 5.2% on 2010.
The number of assignments of building units last year was 118,184, down 20.8% year-on-year, and down 36.8% on 2010.
The total consideration for these assignments was $588.3 billion, down 17.6% year-on-year, and down 14.4% on 2010.
There were 5.11 million land-register searches made by the public, down 0.8% on 2011, and down 14.9% on 2010.
