According to Nomura, in the secondary market, the Midland 35 housing estates index continue to hover at around 60 transactions, around 42% of the 2012 weekly average of 143 transactions.

With home owners’ increased willingness to cut prices, estate agents reported a 5% w-w increase in flat-viewing numbers.

But despite the lower prices, weekend sales activity still remained light with only eight transactions being registered at the ten major housing estates.

Overall demand remains very weak and narrow, with most bargain hunters focusing on small ticket-sized units.
