Gov’t approves 15 building plans in March

Six of the projects will provide 57,290 sq.m. of gross floor area for domestic use.

The Buildings Department said it has approved 15 plans in March, of which four are in Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon, and nine in the New Territories.

Four of the plans were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, four others for commercial developments, two were for factory and industrial developments, and five were for community services development.

Authorities said consent was given to commence works for six building projects. Once completed, these will provide 57,290 square metres (sq.m.) of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,070 units, and 24,103 sq.m. of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

The department has also received notification of commencement of superstructure works for four building projects. 

Aside from this, the department also issued 23 occupation permits. Of these, eight are in Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon, and 11 in the New Territories.

The buildings certified for occupation comprise 185,842 sq.m. of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2,829 units, and 138,997 sq.m. for non-domestic use.

Meanwhile, the department received 2,256 reports about unauthorised building works in March and issued 987 removal orders.
