Purchase agreements for building units jumped 21.5% in 2010

The number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration was 162, 739, the Land Registry said.

This is 21.5% more than 2009 and 43.6% more than 2008, according to the Hong Kong Information Services Department.

Total consideration for these agreements was $689.5 billion, an increase of 33.7% on 2009 and 66.9% on 2008.

The number of assignments of building units for 2010 was 186,936. This is 32.3% more than 2009, and 14.7% more than 2008.

The total consideration for these assignments was $687 billion, up 45.7% on 2009, and 26.6% on 2008.
