Treasury Bureau reports positive feedback on paperless corporate communications proposals

The bureau is drafting the amendment bill and will introduce it to the Legislative Council.

Paperless corporate communication proposals have received general support during public consultation, the Financial Services and Treasury Bureau said.

The consultation, conducted from 27 November 2023 to 26 January 2024, received nine submissions from communities. Respondents agreed that the proposals will enhance cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency of companies

The bureau has briefed the Legislative Council Panel on Financial Affairs on the legislative proposals, consulted the Standing Committee on Company Law Reform, and organised a briefing session for seven industry organisations.

Additionally, it is drafting the amendment bill and will introduce it into the Legislative Council within the year.
