Traffic casualty benefits updated

Injury and Interim Maintenance Grants have been merged.

The Injury Grant and the Interim Maintenance Grant under Traffic Accident Victims Assistance Scheme have merged into Compassionate Grant (CG) on 28 June.

Qualified applicants will receive $330 per day for up to 60 days of sick leave.

Applicants can only apply for CG once in two years and must obtain certification from a registered medical practitioner to prove the injury requires hospitalisation or sick leave for no less than seven days.

Arrangements for Burial Grant, Death Grant and Disability Grant under the scheme will remain unchanged.
