Hong Kong launches GBA legal information platform

The online resource covers legal and policy issues affecting residents and businesses across the Greater Bay Area.

Department of Justice has launched a legal information platform covering business, employment and daily life across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The platform consolidates information across six areas: housing, business, work, education, family and healthcare.

It also provides updates on rule-of-law developments in the region, including standards for lawyers, mediation arrangements, and mechanisms that allow Hong Kong-invested enterprises to adopt Hong Kong law and choose Hong Kong as an arbitration venue.

The resource uses a “one question, three answers” format to provide concise and practical guidance on common cross-border issues.

Deputy Secretary for Justice Cheung Kwok-kwan said the platform is expected to facilitate people's movement and strengthen economic exchanges within the Greater Bay Area.

The initiative forms part of measures under Hong Kong’s Policy Address and the Department of Justice’s Action Plan on the Construction of Rule of Law in the GBA.
