HKICPA, ACCA renew Mutual Recognition Agreement
Both sides further enhanced connection by expanding professional development opportunities.
Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) renewed its Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) on 27 June.
The new three-year MRA provides HKICPA members who have at least three years of accountancy relevance experience and completes a Qualification Programme to apply for ACCA membership.
Similarly, ACCA members who completed full examinations in the UK or Hong Kong and have at least three years of relevant experience may apply for HKICPA membership. In addition, they need to complete the Capstone of the Qualification Programme.
The new MRA also relaxed educational limits for ACCA members seeking Chartered Professional Accountant of HKICPA. Eligibility will be extended to non-degree ACCA members holding no less than Higher Diploma/associate degree (or equivalent) under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework.
