Court fines firm for obstructing SFC investigations

Investigations relate to suspected initial public offering fraud and misleading information.

The Court of First Instance fined and ordered records from AMTD Global Markets for not cooperating with Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) investigations.

The SFC's investigations relate to suspected initial public offering fraud and misleading information in companies where AMTD acted as the underwriter.

The Court rejected the company’s excuses for non-compliance, finding that the change in management and the loss of records were not reasonable justifications for ignoring the legal notices.

In line with this, the Court ordered AMTD to comply with the outstanding requests by 19 January 2026.
