Broadfield opens first overseas office in Hong Kong

The law firm is hiring 30 experts in investment funds, M&A, and private capital.

Global law firm Broadfield has opened its Hong Kong office as part of a strategic expansion to strengthen its international presence, led by a strong team in the Asia-Pacific market.

Founded in 2024, the international law firm has offices in London and Hong Kong, and also seeks to expand to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and North America, Effie Vasilopoulos, managing partner at Broadfield Asia LLP, told Hong Kong Business.

“We have taken a floor of space which provides ample opportunity for rapid growth over the coming years,” she said in an emailed reply to questions.

The office features a collapsible conference room that can house more than 100 people for events.

“We have already put this to good use with our first two major events,” Vasilopoulos said. “We expect to host many similar events in the years to come.”

The headquarters at Queen’s Road Central will house Broadfield’s legal and non-legal teams. The law firm is hiring 30 people who specialise in investment funds, private equity mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory and turnaround services, and private capital.

“Both our clients and colleagues alike are very pleased with the convenient, central location that has operated as a well-recognised hub for the financial services sector for many years,” Vasilopoulos said. “[Hong Kong] simply can’t be beaten for quality and convenience of location.”

The firm sees opportunities in the city’s financial service sector given ample government support, she said.

Broadfield plans to merge local expertise with global resources in the next 12 to 18 months to deliver tailored legal solutions as it fast-tracks growth in China, Vasilopoulos said.

The law firm expects to benefit from the strategic support of SHP Legal Services, which provides expertise in technology, talent acquisition, and business strategy, allowing it to offer top-tier legal services at competitive rates.

“We are very excited to offer our innovative new model to our clients and to enhance their business in a unique manner that can afford a meaningful competitive advantage to them,” she added.
